With a large number of annual giving campaigns
concluding at the end of this month, many gift
officers at universities and non-profits are scrambling
to secure large last minute donations. Timing
can be everything, so identifying prospects who
have recently come across large amounts of cash
can be critical to gift officers' successful targeting
efforts.
Donor
Watch's recently compiled list of top donor prospects
has been a boon to many development teams who
are making their final push to achieve their annual
goals. The list includes more than 4,200 individuals
who have sold more than $8 billion in stock during
April and May of 2016.

Topping the list are executives from the states
of California and Washington, who raised nearly
$1.3B and $1.2B in cash over the past two months,
respectively. Rounding out the top five are Pennsylvania
($830M), New York ($750M) and Texas ($560M).
Executives from Silicon
Valley, followed by San Francisco and San Jose,
drove California to the top of the list, while
Seattle, Philadelphia, Manhattan and Dallas-Fort
Worth were the principal drivers of their states'
performances.
